The central theme of every song on this album is Jesus Christ. Each song attempts to portray different dynamics of His personality. Some songs are written from the perspectives of various Biblical figures who encountered Him. Ultimately, this album is meant to provoke and inspire meditation and contemplation on who Jesus is. My hope is that this album can be used as a tool for engaging in contemplative prayer and worship. One of the main purposes of the Key of David is to use prayer and worship to open doors of revelation and knowledge of who Jesus is. We believe that in order to be like Him, we need to see Him and reside in His presence. The majority of these songs were simply derived from choruses of spontaneous prophetic worship in prayer sets. This album is an attempt to capture some of these raw moments and deliver them to the community. My hope is that listeners will engage with the reality and truth of who Jesus is rather than simply listening to a song: He is gentle and meek while he is mighty and strong, He is the Lion and the Lamb. Jesus is King.
